Hypocrite
2022
plywood, cardboard, plaster, acrylic paint, spray paint, resin
16.5” x 21” x 5”
This piece is comprised of cast nicotine vape devices and weed cartridges potruding from a set of plaster lungs.
This piece is called hypocrite because it is a visceral representation of my personal battle with nicotine addiction.
A lot of the youth in my generation struggle with dependency on products that are constantly marketed towards us with enticing flavors and all too easy access.
Most of us know that these products aren’t good for our lungs yet we continue to ingest them anyway as a form of self-medication and coping mechanism.
